Is there a minimum number of loads I have to factor?
No. There is no minimum load count, no minimum dollar volume, and no monthly commitment. You can factor eleven loads one month and none the next, and the month with none costs nothing.
This is the term most worth checking on any factoring offer, because it is the one most often buried. A monthly minimum does exactly what a contract does: it makes leaving expensive and it charges you in your slow months. The difference is that a contract term appears on page one and a minimum appears in the fee schedule.
It matters most to the carriers who need factoring most. A hotshot operation running three loads one week and eleven the next, a hopper bottom carrier whose year happens in six weeks of harvest, an aggregate hauler whose season ends when the ground freezes: every one of them is a carrier a volume commitment penalizes precisely when the cash is tightest.
So there is no floor here of any kind. Not on how many loads, not on how many dollars, not on how many months.
